The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run Foliagram: on the web, an email address for your account and purchases. No advertising, no tracking cookies, no selling or sharing of your data, ever. Your garden designs stay on your device unless you sign in to sync them.
Your gardens, canvases, flower combos, and settings are saved locally on your device (or in your browser on the web). If you sign in, your gardens and settings are also stored on our servers so they can follow you between your phone and the web. We use this data only to provide that sync; we do not mine, sell, or share it.
Buying on the web requires an account; on iPhone an account is optional and adds sync. We store the email address and name you give us, a sign-in session, which purchases your account owns, and your synced gardens. Sign-in works by emailed one-time codes; we never store passwords. Sign-in codes and purchase receipts are delivered through our email provider (Brevo), which processes your address solely to send those messages. You can delete your account and all its data anytime in Settings, or by emailing hello@foliagram.com from the account address.
If you allow it, Foliagram reads your approximate location once, on device, to calculate the sun's real position — so shadows, daylight, and seasons match your latitude. Your coordinates are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. You can decline this permission and set a location manually instead; the app works fully without it.
Camera access (used for capturing your garden space) and motion access (used to look around in the 3D view by moving your phone) are processed entirely on device. No photos, video, or sensor data are uploaded or stored by us.
On iOS, purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own secure pages. In both cases Foliagram never sees or stores your card details; we record only which items your account owns.
We count visits with anonymous, aggregate tallies (for example, how many visits happened today, from which country, on phone or desktop). These counts contain no names, emails, IP addresses, or identifiers of any kind, and we use no tracking cookies — which is why there is no cookie banner. The single cookie we set is a yes/no flag that remembers you are signed in, so our own homepage can greet you; it identifies nobody and is read by no one else. There are no advertising networks, no third-party trackers, and no data brokers. The only third parties that touch any data are Stripe (payments) and Brevo (email delivery), each strictly to provide their service.
Foliagram is safe for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
